From September 11th to 13th, Monserrate Park once again hosts Jazz em Monserrate, uniting music, heritage, and nature in one of the most emblematic settings of the Sintra Cultural Landscape.
Under the theme "Other Times," the 2026 edition brings together Daniel Bernardes, Becca Stevens and João Barradas Trio with Jonathan Kreisberg, alongside Rita Maria and Angélica Salvi, and Mateus Saldanha, proposing an experience that invites attendees to slow down and experience music more attentively, over three days of concerts, film with music, jazz for babies, jam sessions, and a masterclass.
With artistic direction by Inês Laginha, the festival departs from the idea that jazz is more than a musical genre; it is a way of inhabiting time: an elastic time, open to improvisation, dialogue, and listening. Between tradition and contemporaneity, composition and real-time creation, learning and enjoyment, this year's program invites the public to experience different ways of relating to music, heritage, and the landscape, reinforcing the identity of Jazz em Monserrate as a meeting place for artists, audiences, and generations.
Maintaining its format concentrated into a single weekend, the festival is designed to be experienced throughout the day. From early morning until nightfall, the program is spread across Monserrate Park and Palace, encouraging a more prolonged experience of this space of rare beauty and affirming Sintra as a cultural destination where music integrates naturally into the landscape.
Jazz em Monserrate is promoted by Parques de Sintra, with the patronage of the "la Caixa" Foundation in collaboration with BPI, and the support of the Sintra Municipality. Smooth FM is the official radio station of the festival.
